The Crocker Art Museum acquired Lovers and awarded Cyrus the inaugural John S. Knudsen Prize from the Crocker Art Museum in 2017. The prize supports an emerging or mid-career California artist while also funding programs, exhibitions, acquisitions, and other endeavors related to the artist’s work at the Museum.
The Lovers for Cyrus Tilton campaign is reaching out to all who love and value the power of visual arts, and who appreciate Tilton’s work and its thematic values connecting humanity to the environment, to join in philanthropic support.
If Cyrus' work has left an impression, inspired you to connect, or made you ponder ideas about beauty and mystery – here’s a chance to thank him for enriching your life, and ensure the legacy of his artwork.

We need your help to reach our financial goal for placing Lovers into The Crocker Art Museum's permanent collection. The Crocker Art Museum is the first public art museum in Western United States who show and loan their global collection rich in California art.
Please consider a gift of Art by late Oakland artist Cyrus Tilton and help to secure his legacy, and the significance of Oakland's art scene, by ensuring the public can enjoy this timely and urgent Tilton message.
